This makes it possible to grind out the shell wafer-thin (less than 1mm) so that it replaces the usual resonance box perfectly.

String material: phosphor bronze with steel core (braided strings for low tones), phosphor bronze wire (in the middle position) and steel strings (in the treble / high pitch). The phosphor bronze gives the instrument a warm and earthy sound and is easier to tune than steel strings, which must have a high voltage to produce a clear sound.
